The Order of Freedom (Orden slobode) was the highest military decoration of Yugoslavia, created in 1945 by the Presidium of the AVNOJ (later the People’s Assembly). It was awarded to commanders of large military units for exceptional leadership and courage in battle, as well as to distinguished allied commanders.

It was the second-highest state award in Yugoslavia after the Order of the Yugoslav Great Star and one of the rarest orders, awarded only 7 times before the breakup of Yugoslavia.
