About the Medal:
This reproduction represents the commemorative medal associated with Prince Zaitao of the Qing Dynasty (1887–1970), half-brother of the Guangxu Emperor and uncle of Puyi, the last Emperor of China.
In 1910, Zaitao was sent abroad as a Qing ambassador to Europe, the United States, and Japan to study modern military systems. During his visit, commemorative medals were presented to foreign counterparts, symbolizing Qing diplomacy and modernization efforts.
