Gold brocade field with black edging, hand/machine-embroidered USSR state emblem at the top. At the bottom each board has the large naval marshal star– gold rays with red shield and black anchor – as used on parade / overcoat boards of the highest Soviet Navy rank. Short history (optional):
When the USSR restored epaulettes in 1943, the Navy version for the top rank followed the marshal pattern but used black edging and a naval star with anchor to distinguish it from the Army marshal boards. This style continued in the postwar period.
