Established by Emperor Meiji in 1888, the Order of the Sacred Treasure (瑞宝章 / Zuihō-shō) is among Japan's best-known historic orders of merit.
This collector-made piece recreates the striking appearance of the 2nd Class star with its elaborate radiating construction. Gold-tone and silver-tone rays are combined with deep blue accents and a ring of vivid red decorative elements, producing the distinctive layered appearance associated with this Japanese decoration.
The reverse features a polished gold-tone surface, Japanese characters and a long vertical pin fitting for traditional breast-star presentation.
