This is a modern reproduction medal, inspired by the “For Love for the Fatherland” medal of 1812, established by Emperor Alexander I on February 9, 1813. The original medal was a one-time award given to selected peasants of the Moscow province who took part in the partisan movement during the Patriotic War of 1812.

• Obverse: Right-facing bust of Alexander I with inscription “Alexander I Imp. Vseross.”
• Reverse: Within an oak wreath, a five-line inscription: “For the Love of the Fatherland 1812.”
• The original medals were made in silver and worn on the chest with a Vladimir moiré ribbon.

Because only 25 medals were awarded, originals are considered extremely and are preserved today in the State Historical Museum (Moscow) and the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg).
