This is a modern reproduction medal, inspired by the Imperial Russian medal “For the Persian War”, established in 1828 under Emperor Nicholas I.
The original medal was awarded to participants in the Russo-Persian War of 1826–1828, recognizing soldiers and officers who took part in the campaigns that led to Russian victories in the Caucasus and the signing of the Treaty of Turkmenchay.
