The Military Order of Maria Theresa was established in 1757 by Empress Maria Theresa during the Seven Years’ War. It became the highest military decoration of the Austrian Empire, awarded exclusively for exceptional bravery, leadership, and distinguished service in battle.
The Knight’s Cross represented the entry grade of the order, often awarded to junior officers who demonstrated personal valor and tactical excellence. Higher grades (Commander’s Cross and Grand Cross) were reserved for senior officers and generals.
This collector-grade reproduction faithfully reproduces the Knight’s Cross insignia in brass with enamel details, making it a valuable addition for collectors of Austrian, Habsburg, and European military orders, as well as for reenactment, exhibitions, or educational display.
