This is a reproduction of the Order of the Crown (Kronenorden), 2nd Class Breast Star, a Prussian decoration founded on October 18, 1861 by King William I on the occasion of his coronation in Königsberg.

The order served as a general merit award and was assimilated into the hierarchy of the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle in November 1861.

Variants:
Different distinctions were awarded, including crosses with swords (introduced during the 1864 German-Danish War), with swords on the ring, with long service numbers, with the Cross of St. John, and with medical distinctions (1870).
